Dave Lloyd Mega Challenge
21/06/2009
Dom Icely, a long standing friend of Dom’s ride a gruelling one-day cycle ride on Sunday 21 June 2009, taking in 150 miles of North Wales and Snowdonia.
Dave Lloyd, who organised his eponymous 'Dave Lloyd Mega Challenge' is a former Olympian and pro. He rode the on the Continent in the Raleigh team in the 70’s, including in the unbearably tough Paris-Roubaix. He knows a thing or two about hard races and has purposefully designed the course to take in as many climbs as possible, each by the hardest route (thanks Dave!). The course fitted in over 5000m of climbing and it also included several sections of 25% gradient or more. See http://www.davelloydmegachallenge.com/default.aspx?id=5 for a profile.
Dom Icely will be riding the event at his own expense, so anything donated will go directly to help Dom, via the Dom Pardey Trust. Over £3000 has been raised to date. You can donate directly to the Trust or via Paypal. Anything you can donate will be warmly welcome and well spent on crucial rehab and equipment for Dom.
